Makini is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization supporting children and youth living and working on the streets. This organization started working since 2008 and it was officially registered in 2010. Makini provides basic short-term responses to their needs and organizes daily and weekly training's, skills, supports, care and art activities (drama, music, dance, story telling…) with professional trainers.

A day of African Child June 16 2018, Preparations for the event. Makini invited the team of 8 professional artists and trainers who are former street children to the village to conduct training's and awareness raising about child rights. Makini team from Dar es salaam plus selected team in Mambo managed to train 300 children who performed and showcased their talents, feelings and community issues affecting child rights and child welfare. Parents and village/community leaders were invited to play and perform with children. As the first time event appeared in the village, everyone was happy and felt the need for children to be listened and supported.
