Makini is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization supporting children and youth living and working on the streets. This organization started working since 2008 and it was officially registered in 2010. Makini provides basic short-term responses to their needs and organizes daily and weekly training's, skills, supports, care and art activities (drama, music, dance, story telling…) with professional trainers.

Tyson Chandler's visit
On the 14th of August, UNICEF Goodwill ambassador and american basketball player came for a 2 days visit in Tanzania and was able to come and watch a performance by Makini at the Kigogo Center (Dogodogo center), an emergency and short-term shelter for children living and working on the streets.

The kids from Makini are back at the Alliance
Française with a new performance created by Berengere Brooks and Nyakwesi
Mujaya. This year they have been working weekly with professional trainers in
dance, music and drama. With a few props, some good ideas and a lot energy they
will take the audience on a journey from dawn to night in a street of Dar es
Salaam….
